Charleigh – 1 year Session

Usually I have some kind of intro.  Some little anecdote on the magic I see in photography and families in general.  But that’s going to have to wait, because Charleigh’s one year session is too amazing not to share first.  Charleigh’s mom knew exactly what she wanted, with watermelons, custom props, and homemade cake.  I love seeing her vision come together. Enjoy!

Her smile is so infectious.

Not quite sure about me. If I moved too close, very suspicious.

Mama snuggles are the best. Babies get stressed in the middle of the session. Sometimes you gotta stop for food or a little snuggle.

What a face! I think she got a watermelon-cake seed.

For some reason, this one sums it all up. She loved the cake (she’s covered in it!) but couldn’t quite get enough of the watermelon.

Then a few just for mom. There’s nothing better than a snuggle from your favorite person after a incredibly cute photo session.

One of the things I love about my work is that I get see children grow.  It’s so funny – the personality you see during an older child’s session, you remember seeing that personality shine through in such subtle ways during their newborn session.  It makes me appreciate little newborns.  Tiny humans.  With life and personality and beauty that’s all their own.  That facial expression a crawler gives you might be the exact same facial expression you see years later at their pre-K graduation session.  It just amazes me.
