Why hire a photographer for a child’s birthday?
Growing up, you never heard of such a thing. You or a family member took the pictures or you just learned to enjoy your memories without them. A birthday party cost money as it was, why would you put a photography budget into it? It’s not like your child’s birthday is a wedding or anything.
But is it any less important?
Recently I got to celebrate my first child’s first birthday. And I can honestly say from firsthand knowledge that I wish I had a professional photographer take pictures at her party. Here I was trying to play Mommy and Hostess and Chef and Photographer all in one! I couldn’t do all those jobs fully without one suffering…and unfortunately, in the battle between Mommy and Photographer, Mommy won out.

Harper’s rainbow party was fun for children and adults alike. I was glad that I was there to capture those memories so Mom and Dad could focus on their guests and their birthday girl. Check out how it all came together!
Harper had a rainbow party, complete with rainbow cupcakes, a candy bar, and rainbow punch! She met with all her guests, big and small, in her super-cute birthday outfit.
Then it was time for…..cake!!
And presents galore!
